Well the weather last weekend was PERFECT, and the crowds around town were reflective!
The Chowder fest in Greenport with the Boat Show drew record numbers and based upon the crowd at the restaurant I was at, folks stayed late.
It looks like folks are following my blog because the Greenport Farmers Market was also busy so that’s a good thing!

On the schedule for this weekend is the Mattituck Lions Strawberry Festival…one of the biggest events on the east end annually. Starting Thursday Night with the annual Hulling Party, where local residents meet under the tent to hull and prepare Strawberry Treats for sale during the festival and ending Sunday Evening at 5PM. Spectacular Fire Works highlight Friday and Saturday nights event, but a good time can be had every day and evening. http://mattituckstrawberryfestival.org/
For those of you with more mature tastes and needs consider the Vineyard Walk at Shinn Estate Vineyards. Every Saturday and Sunday at 1:30 join Barbara Shinn on a 30 minute walk through her 20 acre vineyard while she explains the growing cycle of the vine. If you go to the festival there will be plenty to eat but some folks need a little more than a hot dog or Italian sub from the truck.
