Tonight: Cops Hosting 'National Night Out' for Crime, Drug Prevention
Nassau County Police are participating in the 31st annual National Night Out for crime and drug prevention.

Nassau County Police are participating in the 31st annual National Night Out for crime and drug prevention.
Held the first Tuesday of every August, the event is held across the country for communities to heighten awareness, generate support, and strengthen neighborhood alliances while sending a message of solidarity against crime and drugs.
In Nassau County, police precincts will be holding events and discussions with community leaders and members across the area.

Here are the scheduled events for Tuesday:
First Precinct

Veterans Memorial Park, East Meadow
7-9 p.m.
Police Officers will be discussing crime prevention and NCPD programs.
Cow Meadow Park, Freeport
7-9 p.m.
Police Officers will be discussing crime prevention and NCPD programs.
Uniondale Firehouse, Uniondale
6-9 p.m.
Lieutenant Fitzgerald will be on hand to discuss Police-Community issues
Second Precinct
Cruise Night, Audrey Avenue, Oyster Bay
6-9 p.m.
Officer Paul Lamonaca and Deputy Inspector Johnsen will attend along with Police Officer Steven Zacchia of the NCPD’s Public Information Office. One of the NCPD’s antique vehicles will also be on display.
Third Precinct
Town Square
Veterans Memorial Park, East Meadow
6-9 p.m.
Police Officer Mosesso will discuss crime and drug prevention along with other members of the Third and First Precincts. The program will be geared towards Child Safety.
Kelleher Field, Williston Park
6:30-9:30 p.m.
Children’s Ride for a Safer Williston Park parade begins at 7:00pm at Broad Street and Brown Street. Police Officer Sikorski will attend the Neighborhood Watch Block Captains Meeting, which will be held at Kelleher Field upon completion of the parade.
Bunky Reid Park, New Cassel
5:30-8:30 p.m.
Parade will assemble at 5:00pm, and begin at the Salvation Army, 992 Prospect Avenue. It will proceed west on Prospect Avenue south Urban Avenue, west on Broadway, and end in Bunky Reid Park. A fair will start at 6:00pm, with Police Officer Atkin and other Third Precinct supervisors and officers.
Jonathan L. Ielpi Firefighters Park, Great Neck Plaza
8:00-9:30 p.m.
Police Officers Chuchul and Anastasis will attend the Village of Great Neck Plaza’s Music in the Park Festival.
Fourth Precinct
Cedarhurst Park, Cedarhurst
6-10 p.m.
Sgt. Moulds-Olsen and two Fourth Precinct police officers will distribute Crime Prevention literature, and the NCPD’s K-9 Unit will also perform a brief demonstration.
Green Acres Mall
7-9 p.m.
Sergeant Grim and other police officers will be on hand with literature. Additional Officers will also be at Dutch Broadway School providing residents with crime prevention literature.
Seventh Precinct
John Burns Park, Massapequa
6-11 p.m.
Sergeant Howell and Police Officer Appice will attend the Town of Oyster Bay Summer Concert and will be on hand to provide residents with information pamphlets and crime awareness literature.
