WANTAGH, NY — Allen Weisselberg, top accountant to former president Donald Trump, was sentenced to five months in prison for his connection in a decade-long tax scheme.

Weisselberg, had long ties with Long Island, specifically, a home in Wantagh, where he raised his family since the 1970s. He sold the property a decade ago, according to Newsday.

Weisselberg, 75, is expected to serve his time on Rikers Island, CNN reported.

He pled guilty last year to 15 counts of tax fraud.

Prosecutors said Weisselberg also paid more than $2 million in unpaid taxes and interest.

Trump's former chief financial officer had testified as the state's witness against the Trump Organization for a reduced sentence.

Weisselberg's time behind bars could be shortened with good behavior, CNBC reported.
