Twins Take Over As Seaford Principals

The girls helped at Seaford Manor as principals for the day.

From Seaford School District: Seaford Manor Elementary School Principal Debra Emmerich had a couple of helpers on May 15. Second-graders Rachel Denimarck and Sarah Denimarck served as principals for the day and got to learn about Ms. Emmerich’s duties as a building administrator.

Principal for a Day is a popular annual tradition and has become one of the most coveted prizes in the silent auction at the PTA’s annual spring gala, according to Ms. Emmerich.

Twins Rachel and Sarah were each able to invite three friends to eat lunch in the principal’s office. They assisted the principal with morning arrival and the morning announcements, visited each classroom and read to kindergartners.

As part of their duties, the girls conducted a survey about the Manor School, asking their peers what they like best about school and for one idea to make it better. Ms. Emmerich said every year she implements three suggestions. For example, she said, fifth-graders can now sit where they want in the cafeteria on Fridays.
