Valentine's Day Special: Town Waives Adoption Fees At Animal Shelter
The Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter is waiving adoption fees through March 31.
WANTAGH, NY — For families seeking pets, the time may be right to explore adoption with the Town of Hempstead.
To celebrate Valentine's Day, the town is waiving fees through March 31.
Residents can find their new furry best friend free of charge at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter.

Typically, adoption fees consist of spaying/neutering, rabies vaccinations, and the cost of microchipping. But as part of the event, all shots and tests are waived. There is a $10 fee for a dog license.
"This is what it’s all about,” Supervisor Don Clavin said. "Residents shouldn’t have to let additional fees prevent them from obtaining a new part of their family."
