Wantagh Board Of Education Members Honored For Dedicated Service
Superintendent of Schools John McNamara says the recognition raises awareness of the board's key role in developing students.

WANTAGH, NY — Members of the Wantagh Board of Education have been recognized for their dedication and service. PTA members honored the trustees during the board's Oct. 17 public meeting, the district said.
Board Recognition Week is a celebration held every year. It is sponsored by the New York State School Boards Association.
A brick was donated to the board at the future James Lodato Field of Dreams at Forest Lake Elementary School. Board members also received baskets of goodies and Wantagh clothes to thank them for their volunteer service to the community.

Superintendent of Schools John McNamara said the recognition week raises awareness and understanding of the board’s key role in developing students and improving their community.
"It takes a strong board to build a strong community," he said.
