Our organization provides essential support to Ukrainian Humanitarian parolees through the Ukraine Supplemental Appropriation to Resettlement Agencies (USARA) Program. Through USARA, we help individuals and families achieve stability, economic independence, and successful integration into the community. We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. The Wantagh Fire Department will host its 2019 Fire Prevention Open House on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., according to a flyer. The event will be held at the department's headquarters on Park Avenue. Adults and kids will learn safety tips for kitchens and stoves, washers and dryers, vehicles, and more. Live fire demonstrations are planned, along with a blood pressure screening. Various firefighter engines and equipment will be on display, and kids can shoot water out of a fire hose and simulate using a fire extinguisher. Light refreshments will be served.
