Wantagh Foundation Donates To District

The foundation's grant will help fund programs across the district.

WANTAGH-SEAFORD, NY - From the Wantagh School District: The Wantagh Board of Education accepted a generous donation totaling $7,225 from the Wantagh Foundation for Educational Excellence to purchase materials, supplies and furniture for the Wantagh School District.

The grant money provides the opportunity for Forest Lake Elementary School to purchase social studies concepts, props and paints for the high school winter and spring productions and a trade show booth for the high school’s Virtual Enterprises International Show. Mandalay Elementary School will also receive money to purchase a third-grade Steps to Literacy program. The grant also provides an opportunity for Wantagh Elementary School to purchase flexible seating options, a stability ball and wobble stools. The school’s science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics program will also purchase STEAM lab Lego Walls for students in grades K-5 and building materials for grades K-2. Fifth-grade science materials and sensory tools for students at Wantagh Elementary School will also be purchased.

Board President Kera McLoughlin announced the donation and said, “We appreciated the incredibly generous donation to our school district.”
