LI Jeep Worker Killed When Colleague Crashed Into Him: Cops

It happened Thursday morning at the Sunrise Highway service center, police said.

WANTAGH, NY — A freak accident at the Jeep dealership in Wantagh Thursday morning has led to one person's death.

A 32-year-old male employee at the Merrick Jeep Chrysler Dodge service center was struck by a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 20-year-old male employee, as he was backing up the vehicle, detectives said.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver remained at the location on Sunrise Highway. Police are investigating.
