Wantagh-Levittown Volunteers Save 2 Lives During Blizzard

Ambulance Corp. revived a man who was unconscious and another who had overdosed, officials said.

Two lives were saved in the midst of the Long Island blizzard thanks to Wantagh-Levittown ambulance volunteers.

Officials said the Wantagh-Levittown Volunteer Ambulance Corp. responded overnight to multiple incidents, two of which were nearly fatal.

Volunteers braved hazardous conditions and rushed to the scene of an apparent overdose, officials said. First responders administered a dose of Narcan, an anti-opiate often used in heroin overdoses. The victim was instantly revived and survived the ordeal, officials said.
