Wantagh Man Charged in Attempted Bank Robbery in East Farmingdale
The 35-year-old was arrested on Thursday, police say.

A Wantagh man was arrested Thursday and charged with an attempted bank robbery in East Farmingdale earlier this week.
Using video surveillance and witness descriptions, police said detectives identified Jonathan Levin as the man who attempted to rob the Chase bank located at 1745 Broad Hollow Road on Tuesday.
After identifying Levin, the Pattern Crime Unit placed him under surveillance and he was subsequently arrested Thursday without incident, police said.

According to police, Levin approached a teller at the bank at 12:54 p.m. Tuesday and demanded cash. The teller did not comply and Levin fled, police said.
Levin is charged with one count of third degree robbery. He will be arraigned in First District Court in Central Islip on Friday.
