Wantagh School District Residents Pass Expenditure Plan

The district will spend money from its capital reserve to make improvements, without raising taxes.

On Dec. 13, residents approved Phase II of construction for the Wantagh School District’s Capital Reserve Fund by a vote of 229 to 47.

The proposition presented to voters authorized the expenditure of the capital reserve’s remaining $2.75 million, which won’t affect taxes, and will target improvements and upgrades of safety and security items; refurbishment of the turf field; upgrades to HVAC systems; replacement of concrete and asphalt; replacement of floor tiles; locker replacements; electrical upgrades; brickwork, masonry and lintel repair and bathroom upgrades.
