Our organization provides essential support to Ukrainian Humanitarian parolees through the Ukraine Supplemental Appropriation to Resettlement Agencies (USARA) Program. Through USARA, we help individuals and families achieve stability, economic independence, and successful integration into the community. We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. Wantagh SEPTA welcomes Dr. Karen Siris to our meeting on Wednesday, November 13 at Forest Lake Elementary School starting at 9:30am. Dr. Siris will present the Dignity Act requirements to Wantagh's SEPTA. She will talk about effective strategies for prevention and intervention, focusing on the importance of creating caring school community for all children.  Dr. Karen Siris, principal and professor served on the New York State Dignity Act Task Force, designing implemenation of New York State's anti-bullying, cyberbullying and harassment legislation. She is known and respected for the work she does creating a Caring Majority of "upstanding students" in her Long Island School. Dr. Siris presents locally and nationally to schools and parents about bullying prevention and intervention. Her new children's book, Stand Up! helps children understand the importance of being allies to their peers.
