Wantagh SEPTA welcomes Dr. Karen Siris to our meeting on Wednesday, November 13 at Forest Lake Elementary School starting at 9:30am.
Dr. Siris will present the Dignity Act requirements to Wantagh's SEPTA. She will talk about effective strategies for prevention and intervention, focusing on the importance of creating caring school community for all children.
Dr. Karen Siris, principal and professor served on the New York State Dignity Act Task Force, designing implemenation of New York State's anti-bullying, cyberbullying and harassment legislation. She is known and respected for the work she does creating a Caring Majority of "upstanding students" in her Long Island School. Dr. Siris presents locally and nationally to schools and parents about bullying prevention and intervention. Her new children's book, Stand Up! helps children understand the importance of being allies to their peers.
