Wantagh Student-Journalists Earn Quill Awards

The two were honored for their work by the Adelphi University competition.

Wantagh High School student-journalist Sean Smith, senior editor-in-chief of “The Warrior,” has won an honorable mention Quill Award in the Most Outstanding Reporter category during Adelphi University’s annual Press Day. This is the fourth consecutive year that a Wantagh journalist has garnered a Quill Award in this prestigious category.

“Sean takes on challenging topics that are difficult to write about and does a terrific job,” said Pete Kravitz, high school newspaper adviser.

In addition, junior Grace Tague received a third-place Quill Award in the Feature Article category. During a former Adelphi Press Day competition, Grace won first place in the Best Opinion Piece category and awards during Syracuse University’s annual journalism contest.
