Wantagh Students Adopt Families For The Holidays

The students used money from fundraisers to shop for goods people need.

From the Wantagh School District: The kindness and goodness of Wantagh students shone through as Wantagh Middle School Student Council members grabbed the iconic red carts and took to the aisles of Target on Dec. 5 to shop for the annual Adopt-A-Family program.

Each year, the student council uses funds raised from previous fundraisers to shop for families who need assistance for the holidays. Members were given a shopping list of gift and food items within their budget.

“We are so proud of the students,” said co-adviser Elyse Brill. “They had to practice budgeting and had a blast finding fun gifts for kids their age.”
