Wantagh Students Bake Bread For Food Drive
The bread the students made will be donated to the needy for Thanksgiving.

WANTAGH-SEAFORD, NY - From Wantagh School District: Home and Careers club members at Wantagh Middle School put their newly acquired baking skills to good use during the making of pumpkin bread, under the direction of adviser Barbara Kearney. The students met after school to bake loaves, which will be donated to the student council Thanksgiving food drive collection and distribution on Nov. 20.
The afternoon baking session was the perfect opportunity for the club members to apply tips of the baking trade as they learned the difference between a wet and dry measuring cup, the importance of cracking eggs on a flat surface and the potency of spices like nutmeg and cinnamon. After the recipe for the bread was mixed and the bread was baked, the students decorated the loaves to donate to the food drive.
