WANTAGH, NY — Students from the Wantagh School District — including the high school, Mandalay, Forest Lake and Wantagh elementary schools — banded together this holiday season to create holiday greeting cards for the residents of Wantagh City Senior Center.

Dubbed ‘Project Greetings’ the endeavor was spearheaded by Miss Wantagh second runner-up Angelina Maciak, a junior from Wantagh High School, as part of an extension of her community service, according to a news release. Maciak, who is encouraged under the Miss Wantagh program to participate in community service, decided that the donation of holiday cards would be the perfect way to cheer up seniors, who have experienced limited visitation this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the news release stated.
