Wantagh Welcomes Its New Teachers
The new staff were introduced to the district and the people they'll be working with in the upcoming year.

The Wantagh School District welcomed a dozen new teachers for the 2017-18 school year who arrived at the middle school with great enthusiasm on Aug. 28 to begin their four-day orientation.
Superintendent John McNamara and Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Dr. Marc Ferris welcomed the new staff, who then participated in icebreaker activities to get to know each other.
"We hired you because we believe in you and we want you to succeed," Ferris said. "This is a very caring and supportive district."

Teachers learned about the district’s philosophy and mission, academic programs, instructional technology resources and inspirational teaching methods. They were also able to meet their mentors for the coming school year, spend time with their building principals, take a bus tour of the district and prepare their classrooms.
