Our organization provides essential support to Ukrainian Humanitarian parolees through the Ukraine Supplemental Appropriation to Resettlement Agencies (USARA) Program. Through USARA, we help individuals and families achieve stability, economic independence, and successful integration into the community. We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. WANTAGH, NY. — A 53-year-old pedestrian died Monday after a GMC pickup truck hit her while it was turning southbound onto Briard Street in Wantagh, police said. Nassau County police said 53-year-old Wantagh resident Elena Crowley was transported to a hospital after the crash, where she was pronounced dead. The accident took place at 5:22 p.m. Monday, when the GMC was attempting to turn off of the westbound side of Lufberry Avenue onto Briard Street, police said. Police did not report any arrests or charges stemming from the incident, but said that the 57-year-old man driving the truck stayed at the scene. An investigation into the crash, police said, is still ongoing.
