Westfield Announces Line-Up of Mall Activities This Holiday Season

Westfield South Shore & Westfield Sunrise Invite Shoppers to Get Into the Holiday Spirit by Experiencing Fun Activities and Special Performances

LONG ISLAND, NY - November 20, 2014 - Westfield today announced its line-up of fun holiday activities at its South Shore and Sunrise locations. Throughout November and December, the public is invited to get into the holiday spirit with Westfield’s Merry Makers, enjoy holiday performances, and eat milk and cookies with Santa while helping children in need.

LOCAL WESTFIELD HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES:

Merry Makers at Westfield South Shore & Sunrise Nov. 28 – Dec. 23:
For the second consecutive year, both Westfield South Shore and Westfield Sunrise malls will be filled with its jolly group of Merry Makers. Meant to brighten the season, Westfield’s Merry Makers will spread seasonal joy by partaking in simple acts of kindness, such as greeting and opening doors for shoppers and assisting them with packages. Mall goers can spot these helpful heroes in fashionable, holiday themed costumes.

Santa Claus Milk & Cookies at Westfield South Shore Dec. 14:
Children and their families are invited to enjoy milk and cookies with Santa Claus on Sunday, December 14th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Westfield South Shore. Activities will include arts and crafts and letter writing to Santa. To participate, please bring an unwrapped toy to this event to benefit Family Service League’s Project T.O.Y. (Treasure Our Youth) program, which provides gifts to parents in need during the holiday season. This event is free to the public and has limited space; registration is required by visiting the management office Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., or at southshore@westfield.com

Holiday Performances at Westfield Sunrise Dec. 7 & Dec. 22: Sounds of Christmas carols and traditional holiday music will ring throughout Westfield Sunrise. Nassau BOCES Long Island High School for the Arts is scheduled to hold a special holiday performance on December 7th from12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Performers from Wantagh High School will team up with the Salvation Army to perform for shoppers on December 22nd from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
