WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — The 2026 primary elections are coming up this month in New York City, and so are all kinds of important voting deadlines.
Washington Heights residents are expected to turn out in big numbers since the race for the neighborhood's representative in Congress is at the top of the ballot.
But House contests aren’t the only thing at stake. Washington Heights residents will also be weighing in on the State Comptroller, as well as choosing leaders for the State Assembly.
Here’s a breakdown of what voters should know heading into Election Day.
Primary Election Day is Tuesday, June 23, with polling places open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Find your poll site here.
Along with the Congressional contest, you will also see the race for the state's Comptroller, and races for the State Assembly.
