Fort George Stabbing Victim IDed, Police Say

FORT GEORGE, NY — The 23-year-old who was killed in an early Monday stabbing has been identified, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the victim is 23-year-old Steven Bodnar, from Holbrook, NY.

Bodnar was killed, and another 23-year-old man was injured in a stabbing early Monday outside 141 Nagle Ave. in Fort George, according to the NYPD.

Police said officers responded at about 12:42 a.m. to a 911 call reporting an assault in front of the building.

When officers arrived, they found one 23-year-old man with a stab wound to the torso and another 23-year-old man with a stab wound to the abdomen, according to the NYPD.

EMS took Bodnar to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem, where he was pronounced dead, police reported.

The second man, who had a stab wound to the torso, was transported by police vehicle to NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Hospital and was listed in stable condition, according to the NYPD.

The NYPD did not provide details about what led up to the stabbing or say whether the two men knew each other.

No arrests had been made as of Monday morning, according to the NYPD. The investigation remains ongoing.
