• Investigation underway after inmate death at Erie County Holding Center (wkbw.com) — An Erie County Holding Center inmate with pending cases in West Seneca Town Court and charges from a West Seneca police investigation died after being found unresponsive early August 15. State and county agencies are investigating, and this is at least the third inmate death in Erie County jails this summer, raising ongoing concerns about conditions and oversight.
