Woman Killed In NYC Hit-And-Run Identified, Driver Still At Large

WEST VILLAGE, NY — A woman killed in a fatal hit-and-run in the West Village this past weekend has been identified.

Destiny Murrell, 22, of Brooklyn, was walking in the crosswalk at 6th Avenue near Washington Place on August 22, when she was hit by a gray SUV.

The driver did not remain at the scene. No arrests have been made.

Murrell was pronounced dead at Bellevue Hospital.

An investigation remains ongoing.
