Citi Habitats West Village Office Shuttered
The office at 114 Perry St. is closing after nearly two decades.
WEST VILLAGE, NY — One of the largest residential brokerages in the city, Citi Habitats, is closing it's office in the West Village after almost 20 years, The Real Deal reports. Citi Habitats had 17 offices in Manhattan at one point, and the West Village office was one of it's oldest storefront locations. The real estate firm now has seven Manhattan offices, according to the company's website.
Citi Habitats President Gary Malin said the firm plans to focus less on brick-and-mortar storefronts, like the one at 114 Perry St. The firm is more interested in having larger, consolidated offices where all of the agents can be in the same place.
“Small storefronts no longer fit with our Manhattan business plan,” Malin told The Real Deal. “To better accommodate our clients and agents, we opened a large, state-of-the-art office at 665 Broadway at Bond Street to serve downtown Manhattan. This workspace was designed to replace our old storefront locations in the East and West Village – as their respective leases expired.”
