GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY – Community members are rallying around The Cubbyhole Bar – a local LGBTQ+ bar and Greenwich Village staple – to help it stay afloat after it was forced to shut its doors due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Cubbyhole Bar closed its doors due to the statewide order to close non-essential businesses to help stop the spread of the new coronavirus on March 16. The bar is small and does not have a kitchen, so it is unable to operate on a delivery- or takeout-only basis, like many other restaurants and bars in the city. This resulted in a 100% revenue loss.

"With no clear indication of when this will end, we worry for our future," the bar said in a statement on a GoFundMe page, which was created to appeal to the community of patrons to "be part of the bridge that helps us over this difficult time."
