Man Crashes Through Drywall To Rob West Village Restaurant: Cops

WEST VILLAGE, MANHATTAN — Cops are looking for a man who crashed through drywall at a Carmine Street restaurant to rob the safe inside last month.

The man broke through drywall to get into the basement of Jajaja Plantas Mexicanas restaurant at 63 Carmine St. just before 5 a.m. on Feb. 13, police said.

Once inside, he broke open a safe and took $300, three iPads and several W2 tax forms envelopes.

The man fled the restaurant, police said. They have released several photos of him taken from surveillance video.
