Man Jumps On Cop Car, Smashes Head Into Windshield: NYPD

WEST VILLAGE, NY — A 31-year-old man was arrested early Monday morning after he jumped onto a police car, smashed his head in the windshield and caused the windshield to crack, police said.

At about 4:10 a.m., NYPD officers were stopped at a red light at Hudson and Van Dam streets when a man, Alexander Fathalla, jumped onto the car, police said.

Fathalla then bashed his head into the windshield and cracked it, police told Patch.

Officers discovered Fathalla was carrying a controlled substance inside an Altoids mints container, police said.

He was charged with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance, police told Patch.
