New West Village French Restaurant Opens Thursday

WEST VILLAGE, NY — A new French restaurant is opening Thursday night in the building that formally housed the prominent Circle Repertory Theater in the heart of the West Village.
Boucherie, meaning "craft of the butcher" in French, is located at 99 Seventh Avenue South. The kitchen is run by Jerome Dihui, the former chef de cuisine at Pastis, the former French hotspot in the Meatpacking District.

Diners can expect classic French dishes such as escargot, steak frites, foie gras and more. Boucherie also has a butcher bar at an open kitchen with a wood-fired grill where diners can choose from different steak and other meats.
The restaurant spreads across several levels and seats 320 people. Patrons can enjoy the dining room, a seat at the butcher counter, a private dining area and an outdoor cafe. Boucherie is decorated in Parisian Art Nouveau style.

Boucherie is open Monday through Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 2 a.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling the restaurant at 212-837-1616 or on OpenTable.
