Person Killed By Train At Union Square, MTA Says
A person was fatally hit by a train on the 4/6 line on Monday evening, transit officials said.

UNION SQUARE, MANHATTAN — A person was hit and killed by a train at Union Square on Monday evening, according to the MTA.
Transit officials announced that 4 and 6 trains were delayed at the station after someone had been hit by a train just before 7 p.m. About a half an hour later the agency confirmed that the person had died, according to MTA tweets.
Southbound 4 and 6 trains ran on the local track and bypassed the Union Square station while NYPD and FDNY finished their investigation of the incident, the MTA said. Some northbound 4 trains ended at Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall, where they turned around for Brooklyn service and others ran on the local track from Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall to 125th Street.

The trains were resuming their regular stops by about 8 p.m., though the MTA said they may skip stations in order to get trains evenly spaced again.
