Police Searching For Suspect In An Attempted Burglary In Greenwich Village

The suspect encountered the homeowner and fled the scene without taking anything, police said.

GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — Police are looking for a male suspect who entered a Greenwich Village residence in an attempted burglary Jan. 9, police said.

At about 5:55 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9, the suspect entered the home of a 38-year-old male in the Greenwich Village area of Manhattan, police told Patch.

The suspect walked through the front door of the home. The homeowner encountered the suspect, who then fled from the home without removing anything inside, police said.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, wearing glasses and standing at approximately 5-foot-7.
