Man Told Vics He Had Gun In SoHo And West Village Robberies: NYPD
Police have connected an individual to two robberies in the Fifth and Sixth Precincts.
WEST VILLAGE, NY — Police are searching for a man they're connecting to two robberies in SoHo and the West Village.
In both incidents, the man signaled to his victims that he had a weapon in his pocket, though police don't know if he was bluffing.
On Monday around 1:30 p.m., the man, described as between 50 and 60 years old, entered the gift shop at PIQ Soho at 420 Broadway, near Canal Street, police said. He threatened a 24-year-old woman while suggesting he had a weapon in his pocket and demanded cash, police said.

He took $500 before fleeing on Canal St., according to police. No injuries were reported.
In an earlier incident on Oct. 20, 2018, the man entered a Verizon store at 154 W. 14th St., police said.

Again, he suggested he had a weapon in his pocket and demanded cash from a 26-year-old man.
He fled with nothing, according to police. No injuries were reported.
He was last seen wearing a hat, eyeglasses, and all dark clothing, according to police.
