SEE: Cop Gets Hit By Get-Away Car In Greenwich Village Burglary
A group who broke into a cell phone repair shop Sunday were caught on video ramming into a cop who tried to stop them on West Eighth Street.

GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — A group of thieves who broke into a cell phone repair shop in Greenwich Village on Sunday hit a cop with their car when trying to get away, police said.
The group of seven masked suspects were caught on video breaking the front windows of "iFixScreens" store on West Eight Street just before 3:30 a.m., according to police and video.
The group snatched an unknown amount of merchandise from the shop before trying to leave in two separate cars just as police vans pulled up, police said.

The van tried to block one of the cars, a Ford Explorer, from leaving, but the suspects drove away anyway, knocking into an officer who had gotten out of the van, video shows.
The Ford Explorer and another getaway car, a Honda Accord, drove away on Eighth Street, police said. The Explorer had Wisconsin license plates and the Accord had plates from New Jersey.

The officer who was hit was sent to the hospital in stable condition, police said.
The incident happened during a night of massive looting in New York City, which in part caused lawmakers to put a curfew in place on Monday.
More than 250 people were arrested overnight with storefronts being shattered throughout the neighborhood until dawn Monday, according to police. Social media reports showed stores including Gucci, Chanel and Bloomingdales being targeted, many in nearby SoHo.
Sunday marked the fourth day of massive protests in the city following the death of Minnesota man George Floyd at the hands of police. Lawmakers have said many of the looters appear not to be connected to the protests, which have for the most part been peaceful demonstrations.
