Storied West Village Piano Bar Reopening For Indoor Music
The iconic Marie's Crisis is reopening on Monday with indoor performances.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — A long-time piano bar is reopening Monday in the West Village.
Marie's Crisis is set to welcome customers back to the bar at 59 Grove Street for the first time since March.
The watering hole is known for its indoor music performances and as a stomping ground for Broadway actors.

The bar will reopen with a schedule of indoor performances, and also numerous new safety guidelines and protocols.
- Two air filtration systems have been installed.
- Only 15 patrons will be admitted at any time, and parties will be separated by either 6-feet or a physical barrier.
- No seating will be allowed at the bar, and a barrier has been installed to separate the bartender and customer.
Additionally, there will be no seating at the iconic piano, and a barrier has been installed to separate the pianist and crowd.

Marie's Crisis tweeted that it will mandate temperature checks, mask-wearing, and contact tracing. However, it is unclear how the restaurant will make the contact tracing happen.
Marie's Crisis hadn't opened any outdoor dining options during the pandemic, but had hosted virtual concerts for people to enjoy show tunes from home.
The bar will be open from 4 to 10 p.m. on weekdays and from 1 to 10 p.m. on weekends.
