WATCH: Thieves Pretend To Have Gun To Steal West Village Car
Two men simulated a firearm to get a driver to leave a car so they could drive away with it, police said.

WEST VILLAGE, MANHATTAN — Two thieves pretended to have a gun last week to steal a car while the owner was inside, police said.
The two men came up to the 28-year-old driver while he was sitting in his Chrysler near West 11th Street and Waverly Place around 5:45 p.m. last Thursday, Feb. 6, police said. One of the thieves got into the back of the car and the other sat down in the passenger seat, video shows.
Once they were inside the car, one of the men simulated a firearm while the other searched the man's pockets. The pair ordered the man to get out of the car and the suspect in the passenger seat slid over so they could drive away, according to police and video.
