WEST VILLAGE, NY — Members of the City Council wield enormous power over what happens in New York City, and Patch wants to hear from West Village and other District 3 residents about what issues matter to them in this year's elections.
For the first time in years, the district has an open seat: Speaker Corey Johnson is term-limited from running again, and six candidates are running to replace him in 2021.
Whoever wins will be able to influence new development, vote on new laws, and serve as the West Village's advocate in city government.
