1 Hampton Bays Clerk Nabbed In Underage Drinking Enforcement: Police

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A clerk at a Hampton Bays shop was nabbed in an underage drinking enforcement in Southampton Town Wednesday, police said.

The New York State Police Barracks in Riverside conducted the enforcement and, during the operation, one retail establishment was cited for selling an alcoholic beverage to an undercover New York State Police operative under the age of 21, authorities said.

A 49-year-old clerk at Canoe Place Fuel Mart on East Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays was arrested and charged with first-degree unlawful dealing with a child and prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage, police said.

The following establishments were also checked and found to be in compliance, police said:

2. Bottle Hampton on CR-39 in Southampton.
3. Speedway on CR-39 in Southampton.
4. Sunoco on CR-39 in Southampton.
5. Zabi Spirits on CR-39 in Southampton.
6. Peconic Beverage on CR-39 in Southampton.
7. Cumberland Farms on CR-39 in Southampton.
8. Shell Gas on CR-39 in Southampton.
9. Gas Hampton on CR-39 in Southampton.
10. Lamplighter Wine & Liquors on Jagger Lane in Southampton.
11. Herbert & Rist on Jobs Lane in Southampton.
12. Strong Oil on Montauk Highway in Water Mill.
13. Speedway on Montauk Highway in Water Mill.
