2 Busted After Marijuana Deal In Shopping Center: Cops

One of the men had, besides the marijuana, metal knuckles and a police-style expandable baton, police say.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — Two Hampton Bays men were arrested after they were witnessed engaged a drug transaction in a shopping center parking lot on Saturday, police said.

Members of the Southampton Town Police Community Response Unit witnessed the pair; after the individuals completed the transaction in the Stop & Shop parking lot in Hampton Bays and went their separate ways, officers stopped the two men and identified them as Ryan Moore, 20, of Hampton Bays and Daniel Kundrat, 24, of Hampton Bays, police said.

Further investigation revealed Moore was in possession of additional quantities of marijuana and additional controlled substances and Kundrat was found with a large quantity of marijuana he had just purchased, metal knuckles, and a police style expandable baton, police said.

Moore was charged with third degree criminal sale of marijuana, 25 gram; third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, intent to sell/hallucinogen 1 gram/more; fifth degree criminal possession of marijuana, aggregate weight more than 25 grams; seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; second degree criminal possession of marijuana, aggregate weight more than 16 ounces, police said.

Kundrat was charged with fifth degree criminal possession of marijuana, aggregate weight more than 25 grams; and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon, firearm/weapon, police said.

Moore and Kundrat were transported to Southampton Town Police Headquarters by officers, processed, and held for Sunday morning arraignment, police said.
