3 Robbed At Gunpoint In Westhampton Rental: PD

When one man went to chase the robbers, he was in a crash, police say.

WESTHAMPTON, NY — Three people were robbed at gunpoint in a Westhampton home Wednesday, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place at 8:40 p.m. at a home on Summit Boulevard.

Two masked males wearing dark clothing entered a residence that three people were renting for the week, police said. The two robbers brandished handguns and demanded cash and cell phones from all three people, police said. The robbers left in a dark-colored vehicle, police said.

One of the people from the house got in his car and chased the fleeing robbers, but crashed into an uninvolved motorist; no injuries were reported from the crash, police said.

Southampton Town Police detectives are asking anyone with information regarding the
