Update: Hampton Bays Gunman Who Aimed Weapon At Cops, Houses Released on $5K Bail: Police
Police used a stun gun to in order to subdue 21-year-old Jonathan Mulvey-Fava Tuesday morning, police say.
WESTHAMPTON-HAMPTON BAYS, NY - Update: Jonathan Mulvey-Fava of Hampton Bays was arraigned Wednesday in Southampton Town Justice Court and will be released on $5,000 bail, according to police.
Original story: A Hampton Bays man was apprehended after he fired shots and then aimed a shotgun at houses an animals in Hampton Bays — and then turned the gun on the cops, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, a call came in Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. reporting gunshots and a subject carrying a shotgun on Pinewood Lane.

Upon responding, neighbors reported that the man was standing in the roadway pulling over cars and aiming the shotgun at houses and animals in the neighborhood, police said.
Officers searched the area and located the man at a nearby beach on Corwin Lane, police said.

The man then turned the gun on the officers and failed to comply with police directions to drop the gun, police said.
After a brief struggle and the use of an electronic control device, police arrested Jonathan Mulvey-Fava, 21 of Pinewood Lane, without further incident, police said.
Police learned of an altercation with another male which took place at Mulvey-Fava’s residence shortly before his arrest, authorities said.
Empty shotgun casings were found outside the residence and police investigated the possiblity of another subject who was armed within, police said.
Southampton Town Police Emergency Services responded and found the second man within the residence intoxicated and unarmed, police said.
The guns have been recovered, police said.
Mulvey-Fava was charged with menacing a police officer, a felony, criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, and en-con ciolations, police said.
The incident is still under investigation and additional charges may be filed, police said.
