WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY — With an eye toward promoting kindness and inclusivity, Westhampton Beach High School students recently paid a visit to the Westhampton Beach Elementary School.
The students read and "engaged in meaningful discussions" as part of the school’s Social Inclusivity Month celebration, the district said.
The high school volunteers shared the children’s book “It's Okay to Be Different” by Todd Parr, "sparking thoughtful conversations about acceptance, empathy and ways to make a positive impact in their community," the district said.
The visit also gave elementary students an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about life in high school.
