Hamptons Road Rage Incident Leads To Arrest: Police

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Hampton Bays man was arrested after a road rage incident Friday, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place at about 3:45 p.m. Multiple reports came in about a road rage incident between two motorists on State Route 24 near Old Riverhead Road in Hampton Bays, police said.

During the incident, Dylan Rogers, 32, intentionally threw an unknown oil-based fluid onto the other motorist’s vehicle, causing "substantial inconvenience", police said.

Southampton Town police officers responded and located both parties involved, police said.

After an investigation, Rogers was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal tampering, a misdemeanor, police said.

He was processed at Southampton Town police headquarters and later transferred to Suffolk County police on an active county warrant, police said.

Hr is scheduled to appear at Southampton Town Justice Court in the near future, police said.
