HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A man seen drinking an alcoholic beverage while driving was arrested in Hampton Bays Wednesday, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place at 4:38 p.m. when a motorist was spotted consuming the alcohol while driving southbound on North Road.
An officer responded and located the driver attempting to exit the Shell Gas Station in Hampton Bays, police said. An ensuing traffic stop investigation revealed that the Jonnathan Quintuna-Lucero, 28, of East Hampton, was intoxicated, police said.
He was placed under arrest and transported to Southampton Town police headquarters for processing, police said.
He was charged with two counts of felony driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, a felony, and other traffic offenses, police said.
He was processed and held for morning arraignment, police said.
