• Spraying Of South Fork Marshes Continues This Week To Control Mosquitoes: Officials (patch.com) — Residents in Westhampton are being notified that Suffolk County's Vector Control division is conducting low-altitude helicopter treatments over South Fork marshes this week to reduce mosquito larvae. Spraying, which uses EPA-registered products considered to have low human toxicity, is scheduled through August 28 and may be extended to the next suitable day if weather interferes.
   

• Hamptons Real Estate Market Data – Week of 8/18/2026 (hamptons.com) — Homebuyers and sellers from Westhampton through Montauk are seeing a noticeably cooler market this week, with only 26 contracts signed and dollar volume down sharply from last year. New listings outpaced contracts, pushing inventory higher, while most recent deals and listings clustered between $1 million and $3 million across the Hamptons.
