An Apple A Day Keeps Children Learning in Westhampton Beach

Westhampton Beach students visited Wickham's Fruit Farm in Cutchogue and learned about apples recently.

WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY — A class trip to Wickham's Fruit Farm in Cutchogue meant learning mixed with fun for Westhampton Beach first graders.

First graders in Lisa Julian’s class recently took part in science and art lessons related to a fall favorite — apples, a release from the district said.

Students learned about the life cycle of an apple, took the trip to Wickham’s Fruit Farm in Cutchogue, tasted and made apple foods, including applesauce, and painted a paper apple tree.
