Astrological Tidbit– A Solar Eclipse always occurs at the time of a New Moon. Eclipses can be total the most dramatic, this is when the Moon completely covers the Sun, for this to happen the Moon has to be in the part of its orbit where it is closest to earth, its also the most dramatic as a day full of sunlight turns into a day of total darkness. We also have partial eclipses where it looks like the Moon takes a bite out of the Sun, and we can have annular eclipse which is the Moon covering the center of the Sun leaving a ring on the outside, this is called a ring of fire and is quite dramatic to watch. This week’s eclipse is an annular eclipse which will have a ring of fire, but is only visible from the Antarctic. The partial eclipse can be seen in some parts of Australia and some Pacific Island.
