Blazin Bagel And Deli Voted Best On Long Island In 2024

MANORVILLE, NY — Long Islanders have spoken —and chosen their pick for best bagel of 2024.

According to the Best of LI competition, presented by the Bethpage Federal Credit Union, the 2024 winner for Best Bagel is Blazin Bagel and Deli, located at 287 Wading River Road in Manorville.

"Blazin Bagel and Deli crafts an extraordinary bagel experience, setting a new standard for excellence in this Long Island breakfast staple," the Best of LI page said. "These handcrafted bagels are a testament to quality and authenticity. Boiled and baked to perfection, Blazin Bagel’s creations boast a delightful balance of chewiness and crispness, creating the ideal bagel texture. The menu showcases a variety of flavors, from classic plain and everything bagels to unique options like blueberry and Asiago. Complemented by a selection of artisanal spreads and toppings, each bagel is a culinary delight. Blazin Bagel’s commitment to freshness and flavor ensures that every bite is a savory journey, making it a beloved destination for bagel enthusiasts seeking an exceptional breakfast or brunch experience."

Speaking with Patch, Blazin Bagel owner Dan Fusaro said he was proud of the honor. "It's great," he said. "It's a lot of hard work."

Fusaro, who opened his business two-and-a-half years ago, said all his bagels are made from scratch, on premises. "We take pride in our bagels," he said. "They're New York bagels — Brooklyn-style, old-school bagels, boiled and baked."

His parents once lived in Brooklyn, Fusaro added.

Customer favorites at the shop include egg everything bagels, he said. "Those sell a lot."

Fusaro said he's also done "bagel reveals" and last year, had a contest where winners based on "Willy Wonka" where two winners won 30 bagels each.

In addition, the store has a signature bagel, he said: "Our rainbow bagels are like none other around. We take pride in them. Nobody does rainbow bagels like we do."
