The Public Libraries of Suffolk County have announced that the OverDrive Media Station, its “inside the library” eBook, audiobook, music and video sampling and checkout terminal, will be visiting the public libraries for monthly loan periods. During this time library patrons can view the entire OverDrive digital download catalog and see how simple it is to download free eBooks.
With touch and swipe gestures at the touchscreen stations, anyone with a library card can browse and sample any title of the media of your choice. When you’ve found your next great book, audio selection or video you can take it with you by instantly (without cables or pre-installed apps) sending a link for that title to your favorite device for checkout using a QR code, email or text message (SMS). Then that link can be used to access a library’s digital collection and borrow the title from any device with a web browser.
