The Greater Westhamtpon Beach Historical Museum is hosting the annual Summer Craft Demonstrations. The first week is "My Sewing Circle" (Embroidery) 
Step into&nbsp;Danielle Little’s tent and discover the art of period embroidery! Using&nbsp;original historic items from her personal collection, Danielle will&nbsp;guide visitors through the stitches and traditions of a 18th-century&nbsp;sewing circle. 
Kids and adults alike can try their hand at a small&nbsp;embroidery craft right at her table, and take-home embroidery kits will&nbsp;be available for purchase. 
Hands-on activities will be available.

Coast Guard Auxiliary Invites Public to Station Shinnecock Open House
Hampton Bays, NY — The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary East Moriches Flotilla invites the public to attend the annual U.S. Coast Guard Station Shinnecock Open House on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at U.S. Coast Guard Station Shinnecock, 100 Foster Avenue, Hampton Bays, NY. 
 
Held in partnership with U.S. Coast Guard Station Shinnecock, this free, family-friendly event offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience the Coast Guard's mission firsthand while learning about recreational boating safety, emergency preparedness, and the organizations dedicated to protecting Long Island's waterways and coastal communities. 
 
Activities include Coast Guard boat tours, knot-tying demonstrations, children's games, and Suffolk Sheriff Child ID cards.&nbsp; Visitors will also witness a Suffolk Sheriff K-P demonstration, DEC netting in the bay, and the annual seal release on the beach conducted by the New York Marine Rescue Center. 
 
Community organizations participating include the Atlantic Marine Conservation Society, New York Marine Rescue Center, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Suffolk County Sheriff's Office, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, and additional public safety and community partners. 
 
Members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary will be available throughout the event to discuss recreational boating safety, schedule free Vessel Safety Checks, and explain Auxiliary volunteer opportunities. 
 
Admission is free and all are welcome.
