Children Celebrate Earth Day In Hampton Bays

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — Even the tiniest of children can celebrate the wonders of Mother Nature: Hampton Bays Elementary School kindergartners in Kathleen Palmieri’s class recently celebrated Earth Day by reading “The Tiny Seed” by Eric Carle.

Next, they learned about the different parts of flowers and how seeds can travel, district officials said.

The students will also be making mini-greenhouses out of clear cups and planting flowers to connect what they have learned with the real world, officials said.
